Post more stories on climate change, Trump kept his promises
A call for more coverage of climate change
Climate change is a major issue for Florida and Sarasota, as a June 8 editorial (“Storm seasons will likely continue to worsen”) acknowledged. We are affected in many ways, from hurricanes and sea level rise to actions taken by the Florida legislature.
My question is, why is there so little coverage of climate change in the Herald-Tribune?
It’s not that there is no news to report. I subscribe to several climate science newsletters and every week I receive reports on new developments in renewable energy, business, public attitude, public policies, past climate impacts, current and future, and climate justice.
Frequent sources for the Herald-Tribune, USA Today and The Associated Press, produce extensive information on the climate. I see little of this information in the Herald-Tribune.
The biggest puzzle is that the newspaper is a member of The Invading Sea, a joint effort of 26 Florida news agencies. And yet, I don’t see The Invading Sea reports in my print edition of the Herald-Tribune.
The group seeks to address the threat of rising sea levels, to raise awareness and to issue “a call to action that cannot be ignored”.

Trump: promises made, promises kept
The Democrats’ strong claim is that Donald Trump lied every day of his presidency. In the manner of Saul Alinsky, this message is repeated insistently.
But look at the facts. During Trump’s 2016 campaign, he vowed to cut personal and business taxes, cut excessive regulations, appoint conservative judges, make the United States energy independent, curb China and Iran with sanctions and tariffs etc.
He was completely transparent with the American people, and his policies accomplished much of what he promised.
In contrast, during Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign, he hid in his basement and said little. His few personal appearances and commercials portrayed him as a sympathetic and moderate Democrat who would unite a nation in conflict.
But Biden now says his administration will be one of the most progressive in U.S. history, and he will do so without any Republican votes.
Biden’s far-left policies include $ 6 trillion in inflationary spending, mostly on big government nanny projects, open door border policy resulting in humanitarian crisis, unrealistic and costly carbon emissions policy and a fossil fuel policy that restricts production and pushes up prices by 50%.
Knowing the Biden of today, it is doubtful that he would have been elected president. He won by not being honest with the American people.

The media owe Trump and the nation an apology
Is it too much to expect that one day the Herald-Tribune and other media will begin to report on the flaws of the current Biden / Harris administration, instead of the perceived flaws of the former Trump administration?
It’s tiring to see yet another letter from one of your loyal left-wing readers claiming that something is Donald Trump’s fault.
Even the availability of the COVID-19 vaccine, which Trump was tasked with developing in “Warp Speed” by working with drug companies and the FDA, is somehow bad because the vaccines were “developed too fast, too late. , came from the administrative Trump ”, and so on.
Interesting now that so much the media has presented as a Trump problem – suggesting hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19; evacuate the “demonstrators”, alias “rioters”, from Lafayette Square; and promoting the Wuhan lab leak as a possible origin of COVID-19 – are not even mentioned by our media anymore.
This does not match the story they spit across our country! I have yet to hear any apologies from Trump or the nation for the media spread of disinformation.
How about being an investigative newspaper and investigating the Biden / Harris crisis on our southern border? Or Hunter Biden’s trade relations with China and Ukraine?

Media apparently working for Russia and China
Being a conservative, I once believed that CNN, MSNBC and other media were a partisan extension of the Democratic Party and would do anything to advance the cause of the party.
I am now starting to believe that I was wrong. The media must be a supporter of Russia and / or China. Your report divides our country.
The Russian and Chinese leaders must laugh every day when they see how your media coverage continues to be one-sided, demanding exactly what they are trying to achieve – division.
Perhaps it was the Chinese who said, “Democracy will be defeated from within. Guess it will be OK as I speak a little Chinese and study Russian.
Keep up the good work. The Communists and the Russians need you!
