Due to his success and the fact that he currently holds the record for most copiers on eToro, we asked him to share some of his wisdom and discuss his trading strategy. Tell us a bit about yourself, what you do for a living, for fun, with your family?

Hello everyone, I am Olivier Danvel and I currently live in France. I have been a professional trader for over 20 years now, specializing in currency markets. I trade privately with my own funds in several markets like foreign currencies, stocks, indices, commodities and cryptocurrencies. I also manage funds for private investors and am part of several hedge fund teams. I started trading using strategies specifically for social trading about 5 years ago. I am a contemplative person. I have an attraction for abstract art and human psychology. My priority in life outside of my business is, of course, my loving family.

Where do you do your research on the instrument in which you invest?

There are 3 different ways to research for trading. First, by using charts, you can find enough information to make trading decisions, as the market reacts to anything that impacts it, much like a heartbeat. If the charts were a person, they would feel the emotions of the economy. Because there is no clear tool in the charts to analyze fundamentals yet, I am doing it manually. Although I believe in the near future, AI will provide us with such tools. I have specific information resources like economic data, central bank reports and their press conferences and government announcements. I follow some Twitter accounts which give me relevant information to understand the movements. These sources are real-time information that I put into perspective with my expertise and experience in understanding trading data. This valuable content helps me get a full opinion on what I’m analyzing.

Do you have specific profit goals for each year? How do you achieve them / do you plan to achieve them?

My business partner Sébastien and I wanted the eToro strategy that we operate to be attractive enough to both new and experienced investors, so that it could be copied and increase our volume of funds under management. We are sticking to our goal of achieving an average monthly profit of 1%. This represents one of the best annual rankings against the global benchmark of hedge funds and banks on average in recent years.

How has eToro changed the way you trade? – eToro investor

We have made some minor adjustments to meet some needs of our copiers. Since then, some of the questions that we received a lot in the past are no longer asked. For more details, you can check etoro review.

What is your trading strategy and what is it focused on?

The goal of my strategy is to try to extract value from the markets over a period of one month. To achieve this, we have a monthly goal of 1% with a low risk score and strict money management rules.

What are the advantages of being a Popular Investor?

Together, we plan our future by being better investors.

What message would you like to share with your audience?
